APPAREL DECORATION GUIDE
Different methods.
The right finish for you.
Embroidery, screen printing, or heat transfers? Each brings something different to your apparel. Here’s how the methods compare—and what to consider before choosing one for your next project.

EMBROIDERY
Threads that add dimension.
Embroidery stitches your design directly into the garment. The raised thread gives logos and lettering a textured finish that works well on polos, hats, jackets, and uniforms.
A strong choice for
Business logos, team headwear, and apparel with a stitched finish.
Keep in mind
Very small lettering and fine details may need simplifying so they stitch clearly. Fabric, placement, and design size all affect the result.
No minimum order.

SCREEN PRINTING
Printed color for a coordinated run.
Screen printing pushes ink through a prepared mesh screen onto the fabric. It is a useful option when you want the same design repeated across a group of shirts or other suitable apparel.
A strong choice for
Team shirts, events, business apparel, and larger runs of matching artwork.
Keep in mind
The number of print colors, placements, and garment material influence the setup and quote. The feel depends on the ink and coverage of the design.
24-piece minimum with identical artwork and dimensions.

HEAT TRANSFERS
Your design, applied with heat.
Heat transfers use heat and pressure to bond a design to a compatible garment. DTF and HTV offer two different approaches, depending on your artwork and the finish you want.
With DTF (direct-to-film), artwork is printed onto a transfer film, then heat pressed onto the garment. It’s a useful option for multicolor graphics, detailed artwork, and small orders.
HTV (heat transfer vinyl) is cut into a design and applied with a heat press. It works especially well for individual names, numbers, straightforward lettering, and simple shapes.
A strong choice for
Personalized apparel, colorful graphics, and projects that need different names or numbers on each piece.
Keep in mind
Transfers sit on the fabric surface. The design’s size and coverage affect the feel, and the transfer material must suit the garment. We’ll help you choose between DTF and HTV for your project.
No minimum order for DTF or HTV.

CUSTOM PATCHES
A distinct emblem with its own identity.
An embroidered patch is stitched as a separate piece rather than directly into the garment. It gives a logo or emblem a defined shape and border.
A strong choice for
Organization emblems, club insignia, and branded apparel details.
Keep in mind
Patch size, detail, backing, and attachment method need to suit the garment and how it will be worn. Ask us about the options for your project.
